Bajaj Launches GoGo EV With 251 Km Range With Smart Features at ₹3.26 Lakh

With the formal introduction of its innovative new brand, GoGo, Bajaj Auto Ltd. has taken a daring step into the electric three-wheeler (e-auto) sector. After years of dominating the CNG market, Bajaj is making a bold move by switching to electric vehicles. The base P5009 model will reach the market at a competitive starting price of ₹3.26 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the top P7012 model will cost ₹3.83 lakh.

A Reimagined Brand for Electric Vehicles in India

GoGo enters the market as a stand-alone brand devoted to sustainable mobility, replacing Bajaj’s previous electric three-wheelers. “GoGo,” which was inspired by the clamorous cries of commuters, is a symbol of vitality, movement, and the promise of efficient, clean transportation. The brand launch coincides with the e-three-wheeler market in India growing at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 30% over the previous three years.

One Vision, Three Variants

Three passenger-focused versions of the GoGo are available at launch:

  • P5009: ₹3.26 lakh, with a 9-kWh battery and a range of about 176 kilometers
  • P5012: 12 kWh battery with a range of roughly 248 km (price to be determined).
  • P7012: ₹3.83 lakh, 12.1 kWh battery, 251 km certified range, segment-leading

“P” indicates for passenger, “50” and “70” indicate vehicle size, and “09” and “12” indicate battery capacities (in kWh). The model nomenclature is clear.

Innovations in Technology

GoGo sets a new benchmark in the segment with various novel features:

  • First in its class, this two-speed automated transmission strikes a balance between efficiency and torque, especially on slope, for smoother operation and a greater range.
  • For the first time in its class, safety features like Auto Hazard Detection, Anti-Roll Detection, and Hill-Hold Assist are standard on all models.
  • Premium TecPac (optional): Provides a toolset for fleet operators that includes telematics, reverse assist, remote immobilization, and more.
  • Durability and warranty: a 5-year battery warranty, USB-A mobile charging, regenerative braking, LED lighting, and a full-metal body guarantee minimum maintenance and dependability.

Market dynamics and competitive advantage

GoGo puts itself ahead of its main competitors with its aggressive pricing. The Mahindra Treo, for example, has a smaller range (around 150 km) and costs about ₹3.44 lakh. With 850 locations, Bajaj’s larger dealer network facilitates smooth sales and after-sales support, accelerating adoption.

There is already evidence of positive early traction. Within two months of GoGo’s launch, Bajaj sold 5,506 electric three-wheelers in April 2025 alone, controlling 36% of India’s L5 (high-speed) market and 39% of the passenger category.

Strategy & Financial Context

With a 20.2% EBITDA margin in FY24 and a reputation for financial rigor, Bajaj Auto anticipates that GoGo will increase sales and establish its green credentials. Sales of EVs already make a substantial contribution: Together with e-three-wheelers, electric two-wheelers (Chetak) currently account for more than 22% of domestic sales.

The outlook for growth is positive. BTS analysts predict that the L5 segment will increase by 4–6% annually, supported by EV penetration that will approach 57% in CY24. By 2026, Bajaj also hopes to export GoGo to Bangladesh, Nepal, and Africa.

Later in 2025, cargo variations that focus on logistics and products transportation are anticipated. Additionally, in an effort to save operating expenses and downtime, Bajaj is investigating AI-powered predictive maintenance through the TecPac platform.

A collaboration with Lohum for battery recycling, which aims for a 95% cell recovery rate, strengthens environmental sustainability. This establishes GoGo as a full-cycle sustainable transportation solution rather than just an EV initiative.

In conclusion, the Bajaj GoGo is a complete reimagining of last-mile mobility, including increased range, state-of-the-art technology, driver efficiency, and sustainability. It is not just another product on the market. “The next time you need a ride, hail a Bajaj GoGo!” stated Intra-City Business Unit President Samardeep Subandh.

With a price tag of ₹3.26 lakh and a robust guarantee, smart technology, and premium selection, GoGo has the potential to quickly establish itself as the go-to option for both fleet operators and passengers, opening the door for India’s electric vehicle revolution.
